Lawn CareThe key to successful lawn care is the soil.

We want to nurture a healthy active soil teeming with micro – organisms. Grass likes well drained, slightly acidic soil.  Getting a soil test done is always a good idea.  Soil pH is best between 6.5 – 7.0.

  • To increase the acid level add sulphur.
  • To decrease acidity add lime.

Soil aeration, grasses need oxygen available to their roots.  This also promotes drainage and increases microbial activity.

Thin lawns will benefit from a topdressing of organic material like compost to improve water-holding capacity and microbial activity.  This will also provide a nice layer to slice-seed new turf grass varieties that will be better adapted to the site.

Know your site !!! Is it shady ? Real hot ? Real sandy ? Compacted ? ...  Know the local conditions and purchase the correct turfgrass .

Remember we are always at your service.
We look forward to helping you in your quest for the nicest lawn in the neighborhood!
